Current Projects
My main project at the moment is ‘Ensemble’ (Semantic Technologies for the Enhancement of Case Based Learning) though I am also continuing to work on a number of projects which began when I was working at Cambridge.
The SPNECRE (Social and Professional Network for Early Career Researchers in Education) project has ended its main funded phase but many of the technology development and network activities are continuing.
For the most part, the projects I have been involved in tend to have at least some of the following characteristics:
- Participatory, emergent or generative design
- Research participants as co-designers, co-researchers and co-interpreters
- Views of learning which emphasise situatedness, relationality and knowledge construction
- ‘Reflexivity’ both as a general commitment and as a set of practices and processes
- High levels of methodological transparency and accountability
- Researchers working as ‘brokers’ across domains and settings
